About the Therapy
People
are sometime a little apprehensive or nervous at their first
visit, which is normal. Your therapist will help you to feel
less anxious and explain the benefits you will experience. Continued
treatments will soon make you realise you made the right choice.
The
colonic itself will take approximately 30-45 minutes, during
which warmed water will be gently introduced into the colon
via the rectum. The therapist may use special massage or other
techniques to stimulate the release of stored matter.
At
all times your modesty is preserved by the use of a gown or
towel. Herbal and pro-biotic implants may be used as part
of your treatment. Your practitioner may advise beneficial
dietary changes to further enhance your treatment.
The
average healthy transit time for eating to defecation should
be less than 24 hours with a bowel movement at least once a
day, if not following each meal.
Chronic
constipation can also lead to diverticulitis, haemorrhoids,
fissures, colitis and even bowel cancer as well as acne, eczema
and bad breath.

Will I benefit
from colonic hydrotherapy?
Most people quickly experience improved mental and physical
wellbeing, depending on the amount of their toxic load and
the years of incorrect lifestyle which has preceeded the first
treatment. You will be advised on the number initial treatments
required to help. You will also be advised of the number and
frequency of follow-up treatments to remain in a healthier
state.
Is
it safe?
In the hands of a trained therapist colonic hydrotherapy is
not only safe but also beneficial. All equipment used is either
disposable or sterile - using the latest and most up-to-date
sterilization solutions which kill all prevalent bacteria,
viruses and fungi. The water is prefiltered and the pressure
is very low, so there is no danger of bowel perforation.
The
Colon
The colon (also called large intestine) is situated in the
abdomen and forms the last part of digestive tract. It is
5 feet in length and 2.5inches in diameter, which handles
food and waste. A normal colon contains billions of friendly
bacteria which help in detoxifying waste, synthesize certain
vitamins and help guard against infection. This internal ecosystem
can be disrupted by several causes such as stress, pollution,
electromagnetic influences, processed food, artificial drinks,
certain drugs, exposure to toxic substances and even smoking.
